Clinical Studies Prove That VAX-D® Is An Effective Treatment Option VAX-D has been PROVEN to be effective and is classified as a Class II Medical Device approved by the FDA. The first piece of research conducted on VAX-D was conducted in 1987 at the University Hospital in London, Ontario. The finding from this research indicated a 66% Effective Rate among those patients receiving VAX-D. The second study conducted in 1994 to validate VAX-D was administered by the Departments of Neurosurgery and Radiology, Rio Grande Regional Hospital, McAllen, Texas, and the Division of Neurosurgery, Health Sciences Center, University of Texas, San Antonio, Texas. These studies included fluoroscopic videos and measurement of disc pressure of these patients during VAX-D Treatment. This proved that VAX-D could decompress the intervertebral lumbar spaces during treatment. A 70% Effectiveness Rate was achieved with patients who had lumbar disc pain previously unresponsive to other treatments. A third study in 1996 was conducted at the University of Illinois at Chicago. In this study, twenty-two medical centers were asked to complete evaluation forms on 622 Patients who had a diagnosis of herniated disc, degenerative disc or facet syndrome confirmed by an x-ray or MRI scan and who underwent VAX-D. The success rate, defined as significant reduction in pain, was 75% among these patients. These are just three of the 13 different studies and publications. Check out the following web pages to read the details on all 13 studies and publications: RESULTS MATTER! If you define treatment success as a reduction in pain to 0 or 1 (on a scale of 0 to 5, 0 being no pain), then VAX-D is extremely successful. Research continues to show that people with cases of multiple herniated discs went from 4.13 to 1.18, a reduction of 71%. The patients with a single herniation had a reduction from 4.16 to 1.09, or 71%. The degenerative disc cases reduced from 3.93 to 1.17, a 70% reduction. The patients with facet syndrome had a reduction of 4.00 to 1.13, a 72% reduction in pain. Overall, 71% of the patients experienced a reduction in pain to 0 or 1.It is important to note the patient population for these multiple research studies was comprised of individuals with unresolved low back pain who were referred for neurosurgical consultation. These patients had outstanding results despite previous treatment including conventional bed rest, medications, physical therapy, chiropractic and/or previous back surgery. They were the worst, most stubborn low back conditions and many of the patients had literally given up hope for relief. Yet they had a 70% success rate. At Team Health Care Clinic, we have experienced a success rate of 89% compared to 70% nationally. That is because the standards we use to determine whether you are a candidate or not are very stringent; in other words, we are not going to recommend VAX-D unless we are confident it will help you.
“I know it sounds impossible, but I could feel VAX-D working. I had relief from my pain for several hours after my first treatment, and that’s what I find so impressive about it. Nothing is completely risk-free, but this is close, and all more invasive options are just that – invasive. Not to try VAX-D first to relieve pain like mine just didn’t make sense to me. The result was 100% relief from my pain with this treatment. I think it’s awesome.” “I couldn’t possibly have been more skeptical, but considering the alternative, I decided to aggressively do the therapy for 2 weeks… |
